SCREENSHOT

Sometimes things get a little too intense in the heat of battle — today, Worcester City’s Shab Khan demonstrated just that when a little scuffle broke out between him and Stockport’s Richie Baker. Baker appeared to get Khan with a pretty bad tackle that kind of also looked like a clothesline, so of course, Khan had to defend his manhood and body slam him to the ground:

That will teach him.

Soccer Player Scores Own Goal From Ridiculously Far Away, Probably Hates Life

josh-rose-own-goal
I feel bad for Josh Rose. Like you, I’d never heard of him until a few minutes ago. And now I only know him as the dude who scored an own goal from, like, 50 yards away.
Rose’s blunder came in a recent Central Coast Mariners match down in Australia. My apologies if you have that contest DVR’d.
His back pass to the keeper just kept going and going until it found its way into the back of the wrong net.
That has to be a helpless feeling. And one Rose will re-live for a long time.
Doing literally anything else with the ball would have been a better choice.
Poor guy. I hate to contribute to his infamy but you do not see stuff like this often.

In a La Liga match-up this afternoon, Barcelona was crushing Levante 4-0 before Luis Suarez came in as a substitute and scored an amazing bicycle-kick goal in the 73rd minute.
The goal came after a hat-trick from Messi and a goal from Neymar but neither were as beautiful as this one.

A European Soccer Match Was Abandoned Over a Drone-Induced Brawl

Last night, Serbia played Albania at soccer in a Euro 2016 qualifier. But, in the 40th minute, things turned surreal: a drone flew over the pitch flying a flag which raised tensions enough to start a fight and get the match stopped.
For a little background here, it's worth noting that the Serbia-Albania political situation is a sensitive one. The drone was flying a flag referring to Greater Albania: an area covering all parts of the Balkans, in which ethnic Serbians reside, but which spreads into other countries in the area. When a Serbian player seized the flag, the Albaninan team got a little... angry. And a brawl kicked off.
Cue riot police and the match being delayed by 30 minutes, until English referee Martin Atkinson abandoned the game. These videos show what happened on the pitch. Drones: still as divisive as ever! [Reuters]
