Vladimir Guerrero had a very good MLB career, but he last stepped onto a major league field back in 2011. We may not have to wait too much longer to see his son, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., play in the majors.
The younger Guerrero put on a show during batting practice for MLB scouts in the Dominican Republic earlier this month. In the session, he used a wooden bat and no batting gloves—just like his dad. It looks like his father passed along some good genes.
The elder Guerrero had one of the best swings of his generation and nobody had better plate coverage. He hit 449 home runs in his 16-year career. From the looks of it, Vladimir Jr.'s smooth swing could result in the same type of power his father had.
According to the YouTube description, the 15-year-old is 6'2" and weighs 220 pounds.
You can see that swinging the bat comes natural to him. If his arm is anything like his father's, Vladimir Jr. has the potential to be a great all-around player. He is eligible to sign with an MLB team next summer.
