During Saturday’s VCU-UMass game, VCU fans successfully tricked UMass into thinking they were running into a shot-clock violation with a fake shot-clock countdown. With 5 seconds left on the clock, UMass guard Donte Clark threw up a wild shot when he heard the crowd counting down to zero.
The refs also got fooled by the fake countdown as they called UMass for a shot clock violation on the play .
